During the first year of EHR stimulus incentives, Compulink provides successful support
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA — January 10, 2012 – Compulink Business Systems, Inc. announced that additional clients have received incentive payments for the first year of the federal EHR program, including providers in its optometry and ophthalmologist businesses.
Issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Meaningful Use are the requirements that providers must meet through their use of certified EHR technology to qualify for incentive payments. After much anticipation from qualifying physicians, CMS is honoring their pledge to disburse payments for compliance with the regulations for Stage 1 Meaningful Use. Select eligible professionals, including some of Compulink’s clients, have complete attestation and have received their incentive checks.
“We made the commitment to our clients in 2010 to be ready to support them in collecting on the incentives in 2011. We kept good on our word, making our ONC Certified release available early enough last year to allow those of our clients who were ready to demonstrate Meaningful Use in 2011 to do so, attest and get a check from CMS, “ states Link Wilson, Compulink President and CEO.
“My practice achieved Meaningful Use in early September, receiving our first check in late October, after seven years of using Compulink’s EHR services,” commented Compulink customer, Thomas Mattingly, MD. “Compulink has been with our practice the entire time, and incorporating EHR into our ophthalmology practice has truly made our practice more effective and streamlined. Since the software is customizable, it’s easy to fit our practices specifications. We did not experience prolonged productivity loss, which had been a concern with incorporation of other EHR systems.”
Compulink has carried through on its commitment as a business partner, providing them with ONC certified software, as well as the necessary meaningful use tools. Along with the software, Compulink has most notably provided consulting and support to successfully help their clients achieve Meaningful Use and qualify for the incentives.
Doug Radish, OD has been a Compulink user since 2007, before Meaningful Use was initiated. “When meaningful use came into play we thought the process would be easy; however it ended up being quite complicated. With the support of Compulink, the Meaningful Use process was easy to track and goals were easy to meet. The software converts meaningful use data into a readable, usable format that far exceeds a paper trail.”
