Westlake Village – Compulink Business Systems, Inc., a leader in EHR and Practice Management systems for the specialty practice, announced it has joined DirectTrust.org.

DirectTrust.org is a non-profit alliance of 130+ Direct exchange providers and supporters of Direct messaging, for both providers and patients including EHR vendors. Its goal is to develop, promote and help enforce the rules and best practices necessary to maintain security and trust within the Direct community.

“We’ve joined DirectTrust to help ensure our solutions maintain the highest levels of security and interoperability when interacting with the larger Direct messaging healthcare community,” said Link Wilson, Compulink President and CEO.

The DirectTrust network now serves over 5,000 health care organizations and over 200,000 individual Direct users who are exchanging tens of thousands of Direct messages and attachments nationwide each month. With the new federal interoperability requirements for EHRs to be Direct enabled, the network will expand and these numbers exponentially increase during 2014.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Compulink as a member,” states David C. Kibbe, M.D., CEO of DirectTrust. “It is great to see leaders in EHR like Compulink step forward and commit to the development of a Trust Framework for the sharing of health information.”
